I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with 30+ years of experience working in the school system and private practice. I provide in person counselling for  individuals (age 12+), families and couples. My experience includes working with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and transition to adulthood.

 

When working with families, I take a team approach, to promote healthy, happy connections.. It is my therapeutic belief that children and youth do better if parents/caretakers can be part of the treatment and develop stronger, healthier relationships within the family system, I work with families to reach these goals. I particularly enjoy working with young adults and their families to help with the transition to adulthood.

I also take a team approach when working with couples. I work with couples to better understand the  interactional patterns that keep them stuck, improve communication skills to increase mutual understanding and empathy towards each other, and look at the family system issues that we all  bring into our current relationships.   

 

Counselling with families and couples can produce long term change and results in as few as 6 sessions. I am happy to help couples and families begin this process. I enjoy helping families and couples learn better communication and conflict resolution skills.
